I was at this one and actually sat with Jerry and a couple of girls at an up front table.
Nice! Any specific recollections?
The music was all brand new to me. There was a little mezzanine in the center of the venue. I went up there and met these two exotic girls. They took me back down to the floor to their in front of the stage right. When the New Riders finished their set Jerry Garcia came over and sat down with us and had a beer with us or something. I was of course tripping my brains out and I really wasn't into Jerry fandom or anything so it was all very cool.
Sounds like a great summer night!
I saw Jerry and Merl Saunders at the Keystone Korner SF that same spring or summer and I'm pretty sure Tom Fogerty was up on stage with them. I went to all these shows with a guy named Larry Sasnow with whom I have long since lost touch. We even talked our way into the Grunt Records Birthday Party out at the Family Dog that summer. It took some major sleuth work to find that one. Talk about foggy.
